We are looking for an organized and personable Controller to work with our Finance department. Working closely with our CFO to manage projects coming into Award Pool as our product hits the SAAS market. As a Controller at Award Pool, you will undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include:
Working closely with the CFO: Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
Assisting in the data accumulation and data presentation for fundraising.
Supporting month-end and year-end close processes.
Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions.
Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results.
Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements.
Coordinating activities of external auditors.
Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process.
Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes.
Evaluating accounting and internal control systems.
Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting databases, as needed.
Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance.
Hiring, training and retaining skilled accounting staff.
Skills and Qualifications:
A CPA graduate with a bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance.3-7 years of post designation accounting experience in the industry or accounting firms.
Previous experience with one of the major auditing firms is preferred.
Technology Skills - Good technical understanding and can learn new hardware and software quickly. The job will use Monday.com, Webflow, Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks, Google Suite, Discord, Slack and Figma.
