POAP is an acronym for "Proof of Attendance Protocol." In most cases, you'll receive a POAP NFT when you attend an event. For event organisers, POAP NFTs provide an easy digital collectable to recognize attendees, and POAP NFTs help people keep a record of significant milestones.

The event organiser will create a POAP NFT for their event and provide either a QR code or a website link with a claim code for attendees. Attendees can then scan the QR code or visit the link to claim their POAP NFT.

POAP NFTs are a type of souvenir or badge to show you attended an event. It's a way to preserve memories of places and events attended. It is the digital generation's ticket stubs, pins, postcards and posters. POAP NFTs can prove attendance at any event, be it in-person or virtual, crypto or non-crypto.

As people accumulate POAP NFTs from all the physical and virtual events they have attended and keep them on the blockchain,  they keep a record of their life experiences on a secure network. It's a much safer place to store important events and accomplishments than in a box under the bed.

POAP NFTs are collectable NFTs. They aren't typically traded or sold. However, as POAP NFTs grow in popularity, consider the monetary value of a ticket stub from a monumental concert or exclusive event.

You can award POAP NFT through the Award Pool marketplace. While you are gamifying your event with challenges and actions to engage your audience, consider rewarding them with a POAP NFT from your event. They can hold onto the POAP NFT as proof of their attendance for future rewards and as a way to memorialise your event.
